A Simple Guide to Living Your Best Life

Introduction

Life is a gift; being born is a precious opportunity. How fortunate we are to have the chance to be alive! We should all cherish our lives and strive to live our best lives.

Most people live their lives on autopilot, repeating the same patterns day after day until the reaper of death finds them.

Birth, aging, sickness, and death — the inevitable cycle of life. One day, we will all die and disappear. What meaning is there if we simply exist and disappear without truly living?

We must strive to live our best lives and fulfill our true purpose in this one and only lifetime.

1. Find Your Passion

To live our best lives and find our true purpose, we must know ourselves. We each have a unique purpose, talents, and interests.

True motivation comes from within, not external factors like money or fame.

Passion is essential for a fulfilling life. It energizes and brings joy to our tasks and drives us towards greater success. External factors may provide short-term motivation, but true fulfillment comes from intrinsic passion.

I found my passion through meditation. By letting go of my preconceptions about myself and my desires, I discovered my true purpose in life.

Although I always wanted to reform the education system in China and make a difference in the world, I now realize that true change starts from within.

When we change our minds, the external world changes too. I’m now dedicated to helping others to find their true selves through meditation.

All the answers we seek are already within us, but they are often hidden by our beliefs, conceptions, and societal conditioning.

When you discover and pursue your passion, you will experience a level of joy and fulfillment like no other!

2. Have A Clear Goal and Vision

Once we have found our passion, it is important to set clear goals and have a vision of where we want to be.

This end goal is the destination that our passion will lead us to. By constantly thinking about this vision, we can link our actions to our goals, which keep us motivated to achieve them.

Setting clear goals helps us stay focused and motivated.

Specific goals, such as “earning an extra $1000 every month,” provide direction and purpose. Breaking these goals down into smaller, achievable steps ensures consistent motivation.

Visualizing the life we desire is crucial to achieving our goals. When we vividly imagine our desired life, it serves as a powerful reminder of the actions we need to take to reach our goals. This visualization alone can energize us and ignite our motivation to move forward, like adding fuel to a fire.

3. Consistency

Consistency is the key to achieving our goals and living our best lives. By creating routines and sticking to them, we develop good habits and make steady progress. As Benjamin Hardy said,

“Consistency is the most fundamental virtue to becoming the person you want to be.”

When you put in the work every day and try your best, you will get closer and closer to achieving your goals. The key is to keep going and be consistent.

Consistency is what sets apart success from failure, and talent from lack of talent. Even if you lack talent, consistently giving your best effort can make you more successful than those who have a lot of talent.

4. Establishing Routines

Establishing routines is key to maintaining consistency in your actions. By creating morning and evening routines, you can build a strong foundation for success. A well-defined nighttime routine is especially important for a good start in the morning.

Before going to sleep, set aside at least an hour (if possible).

 

  1. Reflect on the day and set goals for the next by journaling them down.
  2. Clear your mind with meditation for a deep, restful sleep.
  3. Think about your top goals or problems to solve before drifting off to sleep.
    This way, your subconscious mind can work on them while you sleep, preparing you for the next day.
 

In the morning,

 

  1. Wake up early (5am).
  2. Write down anything that comes to mind in your journal.
  3. Plan your day and schedule your to-do lists in your calendar.
  4. Meditate.
  5. Exercise.

By following this routine, your mind will be refreshed and energized to start the day.

5. Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is key for achieving our goals and maintaining routines. It involves controlling impulses and embracing challenges. By delaying gratification and making choices in our best interests, we can develop self-control and mindset.

To live a fulfilling life, we must practice self-control and resist instant gratification from sources like social media, drugs, and alcohol. True joy comes from within. By choosing to delay gratification, we can avoid regrets and reap greater rewards in the long run.

Meditation has helped me develop self-discipline in tempting situations. By becoming aware of my desires and urges, I can let go of them and make the right decisions. Every act of self-control matters, whether it’s resisting that extra piece of chocolate or hitting the snooze button. When facing a temptation or challenge, think of your future self and ask which choice will contribute to your future happiness.

Conclusion

To live your best life, know yourself and your passions. Set clear goals, visualize your purpose, and establish a daily routine. Consistency and self-discipline are key to achieving your goals and living a fulfilling life.

Meditation has been essential in my journey. It helped me eliminate my false belief system and I was able to discover my true self and find my passion. Having gained a clear direction, I am now able to follow a daily routine with consistency and discipline.
